A coatings business that took over a vacant 40,000-square-foot industrial building on the city’s west side in December has begun a $1 million makeover in renovations, the company said today.
KECO Coatings also has begun recruiting sales and marketing partners nationally and recently hired a full time inside sales manager, part of 50 new employees it pledged to hire by 2013.
KECO said the location at 1102 W. 16th St. will feature technology upgrades, office equipment and structural changes that include new spray booths, spray ovens and upgrading the automated online parts washer. Exterior signage on the building will be in place by the end of February as it moves its its process development and performance racing business to the 16th Street facility.
The new facility is adjacent to the downtown Certified Technology Park and was previously home to Industrial Coating Services.
